Girish Mistry started his career in photography in 1980 and is a veteran photographer and photo educator. He is the founder and head of the Shari Academy of Professional Photography and Digital Imaging.
About Girish Mistry
Girish Mistry’s photography career spans nearly 4 decades. He studied his Art and Science from the USA. He was the first Indian photographer to introduce front projection technology successfully in the fashion and advertising field. He is a Mentor/Ambassador/Expert, for Sony India, Zeiss, Epson, Platinum Partner for Manfrotto and Gitzo. He also is an Ex Guest Editor, Times Journal of Photography. TOI publications. He conducted many workshops for Kodak India, Canon, regional photography associations and Aiptia, pan India. He has been a guest faculty at the premier Art Colleges of India. Currently, he is the Dean of The Shari Academy of Professional Photography and Digital Imaging, the only Silver Jubilee photography school in India.
1987, 1989, 1991 & 1993: Participated in Member's exhibition organized by AIPA of India - West.
1990: One man show, Introduced Photosurrealism for the first time at the Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai.
1991: One man show, An Exhibition of experimental photography (Photosurrealism) at Piramal Art Gallery, N.C.P.A., Mumbai.
1993: Exhibition " Aspects of Creative Photography", at Max Mueller Bhavan Photo Gallery, New Delhi.
Prints retained as a permanent exhibit by Max Mueller, New Delhi.
1995: International photo exhibition of the Group of 64, Holland. Only two participants were invited from India for this exhibition.
